With the start of the new year, we are working hard to update a lot of parts to the business that fell to the wayside while we were in the mall. This includes our blog posts.
In the almost two years we operated in Manhattan Town Center we had a lot of ups and downs. We met a lot of new people, gained several new customers that would never have found us at the farmer’s market, got an espresso machine and relearned how to make espresso-based drinks, and learned a lot about business and coffee in general.
I (the owner) got my Autism diagnosis. It changed how I look at the world, look at customers, and interact with everyone. It is one of the major contributors to us looking for a space outside of the mall.
Our move to St. George was very serendipitous. I had just given up on finding a bigger space and resigned myself to staying in MTC for another 3 years. I knew it would inhibit our roasting business, but MHK is expensive, and there are a lot of coffee shops in Manhattan, KS. Someone we knew put us in touch with our new landlord, as the coffee shop that had been operating in St. George had closed. We were able to strike a deal, and while it hasn’t been smooth sailing, it has been a massive improvement, with a lot of things being easier with our new location. We have a ton more space and a kitchen so we can make some scrumptious goodies to go along with our coffee, for you all to enjoy in our dining area.
We are still working out some of the logistics of the new location, so we ask that you are patient. We also hope that you will decide to grow with us in our new space.
Next up on the agenda: Online food and drink ordering to facilitate pickup orders (ETA March 2025), setting up a pickup location at Village Geek for any bean orders (ETA Jan 10, 2025), and expanding our wholesale bean customers.
2025 is here, and while we aren’t ready (who is?), we are willing to take the challenges it throws at us.
