Updates and improvements
Hello, my loyal customers. I have missed you.
With all that happened in 2025, it was a bit brutal. I am now moving forward towards the goal I had all along, with a few other items on the list that we are very excited about.
First item to discuss is the website, then mobile roasting.
The website was having issues, but I’ve found the solution. This is critical, as we work to expand the business. My goal has always been to turn Galaxy Girl Coffee into a franchise artisan roasting business to help others find purpose and fulfillment, while providing coffee lovers with great beans. This means that we have to have a flexible platform that will allow us to serve our customers wherever a roaster may be. I will keep the Square platform as a backup so that we aren’t without the ability to receive online orders.
Due to the weather, upgrades to the roasting trailer were not possible during the winter months. Can’t paint the roof if it’s too cold. Paint won’t dry. Same problem with installing windows and insulation. Adhesives don’t work correctly in the extreme cold.
The good news is that the winter gave me time to think about the best way to improve the trailer for the long haul. We have gotten creative and I think we’ve found some good solutions. I’m excited about the coming months. The trailer still won’t be out for mobile roasting until at least April or May, as the work we need to complete is time consuming, and we have to budget our purchases to make the upgrades.
Over the next year, we hope to move into our next phase of the business. I have someone interested in running a second roasting location, which will allow us to test the feasibility of turning Galaxy Girl Coffee into a cooperative franchise. There is a lot of work involved to build a franchise business, and I’m hoping I’m up to the challenge. We are still 2-3 years away from being a franchise business, but this next step is crucial. We will be looking for taste testers to see how well the new roaster does. I’ll be posting sometime in September asking for volunteers.
How can you help?
As always, we love our loyal customers, and as long as you continue to order from us, we will continue to roast. Patience during the completion of the roasting trailer is key. If any of you are interested in helping build the trailer, please contact me. I’m having to learn all the new things to make this happen, and it isn’t easy. I did not grow up using power tools.
The last update is about my lack of communication over the winter season. I have had a lot on my plate this winter trying to figure out how to make everything happen, and I also had to re-center myself as an individual after spending two and a half years running a coffee shop six to seven days a week. I have been severely burned out, which puts a strain on productivity and focus. Thank you for sticking with me.
